Indoor Bowls Club Reopening Spring 2021

Further to the government’s announcement and guidance from the EIBA we are pleased to say that we plan to reopen the Indoor Bowls Club as follows:

12th April – 16th May: The Bowls Club to reopen but only for individuals or people from the same household to play on the same rink.

17th May – 20th June: Up to six bowlers from different households on a rink

21st June onwards: Hopefully all restrictions will be lifted and we can return to normality!

Please note that these dates are subject to changes implemented by the government.

We are assuming that initially we will have the same restrictions in place as we had when we opened in October (booking of rinks, signing in, face coverings, sanitising,  placing jack etc) We will advise you as and when these restrictions are eased.

The committee have agreed that for the period 12th – 30th April there will be no charges to play.

From 1st May – 30th September we will introduce a summer membership at a cost of £50.

This will be payable via ClubSpark or Standing Order with five monthly payments of £10.

At the beginning of April all members who have expressed an interest in Summer Membership will be emailed / posted an individual invitation to join. This will reflect any credit due to overpayment in the winter season.

Summer Leagues and Social roll ups

It is planned for summer leagues to commence on Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th May.

If you would like to play in a league please advise Martin Smith (league secretary) if you have not already done so at:  martinsmith217@btinternet.com

It is hoped that organised social group / roll ups will also commence on Monday 17th and Wednesday 19th May.

   For further information please contact:

Yvonne and Mike Cawley:   cawlem@aol.com        (Monday morning social group)

Hazel Bennett:     hazelben2001@yahoo.co.uk        0774 6407646     (Wednesday morning roll up)

If anyone else would like to organise a roll up during the summer please get in touch with any one of the committee.

It is hoped to arrange a date for the AGM after June 21st when we are able to meet without restrictions.

Moving forward it is important that we can build up the membership numbers again following the understandable decline during the pandemic. We hope to encourage new members and introduce a coaching programme. If there are any members who are qualified coaches or would be interested in undertaking training to become one please contact the committee.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to Malvern Hills Indoor Bowls Club!
